How Receed handles your data

Last updated: May 31, 2026

Overview

Receed helps people scan receipts, import receipt photos, add online purchase invoices, organize line items, and understand household spending. This policy explains what information Receed collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, sign-in provider identifiers, workspace membership, and account settings.
  • Receipt and invoice content: receipt photos, forwarded or imported invoice content, merchant names, purchase dates, totals, discounts, taxes, line items, categories, and related notes or review status.
  • Household and budget data: workspace names, shared workspace activity, spending summaries, budget settings, and reports you create or receive.
  • Product and nutrition context: product matching, category labels, and nutrition or product signals when available.
  • Usage and diagnostics: app interactions, feature usage, device or app identifiers, crash logs, performance data, and server logs used to operate and improve the service.
  • Support communications: messages, email addresses, and details you provide when contacting support.

How we use information

  • Provide account access, authentication, receipt processing, syncing, workspace sharing, and app support.
  • Read receipts and invoices, organize line items, group spending, and generate budgets, reports, and household insights.
  • Improve OCR, AI-assisted classification, product matching, reliability, security, and user experience.
  • Send service messages such as email verification, password reset, workspace invitations, and optional reports.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, security issues, and technical problems.

AI, OCR, and third-party services

Receed may use OCR, AI providers, product databases, analytics providers, authentication providers, hosting providers, and email delivery services to operate the app. These services process information only as needed to provide, secure, measure, or improve Receed.

OCR, AI, store matching, and nutrition or product sources can be imperfect. Users should verify important prices, labels, allergens, and financial decisions.

Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate Receed, with members of workspaces you choose to share, when required by law, to protect rights and security, or as part of a business transfer.

Retention and deletion

We keep account, receipt, invoice, workspace, and diagnostic information for as long as needed to provide Receed, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. You may request account or data deletion by contacting support.

Your choices and rights

  • You can choose what receipts, invoices, photos, and workspace content you add to Receed.
  • You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information where applicable law provides those rights.
  • You can manage device permissions such as camera and photo library access in iOS Settings.
  • You can unsubscribe from optional emails where an unsubscribe option is provided.

Children

Receed is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International processing

Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong account sign-in method and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
